Months 13& 14

We have been on the GO, GO, GO! Miley has started walking and she is practically running already. She does run behind her walker and has even learned how to turn it. The other day she noticed her shadow and was having lots of fun playing with it! She also has really started to like more solid finger foods and is feeding herself. Grapes, eggs, tomatoes, avocado chunks, cheese, and cottage cheese are among her most recent favorites. New words include hot, bath, backpack(I'm not kidding), baby, grapes, kitty, herego (here you go), and all done. Miley has also started making animal sounds. When I point to the dog she says "woof", the cat "meow", and the sheep "baaaaa". We have a little smarty on our hands! She has also learned to wave her finger no, as if to imitate mommy. Music seems to still be one of her most favorite things. She dances like crazy as soon as it comes on. We have started the potty training process and she has actually gone to the bathroom several times while on the toilet. Miley also likes to wash her hands, body, and hair in the bath tub. She even likes to comb her hair and mine! What a girly girl (I don't know where she gets that from)!! She has also started exploring how to jump and bounce and has started giving hugs and kisses.

Miley and I also traveled to Seattle with Grandma & Grandpa to visit for the first time, Uncle Greg, Aunt Andrea, Wilhelm, Robin, & Baby Annaliese! We had an amazing time seeing every body and exploring Seattle. Adventures included Pike's Market, Sight-seeing park over looks, the aquarium, eating at yummy restaurants, float plane flying tour, and spending quality time with family and friends. A big thanks to our hosts!!! As you can see, we have been very busy. Time just keeps flying by. We are truly treasuring this time with our little Miley and can't believe how much she has transformed into a toddler just these last two months. How does she keep growing so quickly?? Must be all that yummy food she never stops eating!!! Until next time...

12 months

I can't believe that my little Miley is already 1! Where oh where did the time go? She has kept me moving this whole last year. Some how she keeps getting more energy and I am getting less! How is that happening? Miley had such a wonderful first birthday party with family and friends. Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Sherri Pearl came to visit! We had such a GREAT time throwing her 1st bday BBQ party. Lots of family and friends came to help make the day special. Miley was spoiled to pieces, as usual, with love, gifts, and good food! I made her a homemade organic cheesecake with whipped cream on top (Thanks for the recipe Aunt Courtney and Nona!!). She loved the cake and went crazy eating it! I now know that she has her mother's sweet tooth when it comes to desserts! She really also got into opening the wrapping paper.

Miley has been sleeping wonderfully through the night still but has starting taking shorter naps some times during the day. She is a super good eater and we actually just weaned her from breastfeeding and started real cows milk. At first she didn't like it at all, but now she LOVES it! She has also started eating thicker foods. Miley has made many accomplishments this month including standing from a squat, walking with walker, walking around furniture while holding on, taking six to seven steps on her own, and getting her first molars! She has also learned how to say thank you and tada! As you can see, she has been a busy girl!

Places Miley went this month ...
Camping with Grace Church Families at Lemon Lake. While here we went hiking, swimming, and played in the rain. We had an amazing time of fellowship with GREAT friends. Miley enjoyed spending time with Hunter and Brooklyn Osborn. They make her laugh and smile. Hunter, who is six, says he is going to marry Miley. LOL. WE also went to Trimble Hot Springs with friends to celebrate a birthday. Miley was so wiped out from a day of fun there that she actually fell asleep in the hot water pool! This is not normal for this little girl because she usually never falls asleep any where except for home and in the car.

As you can see, we had a wonderful month together and an amazing first year with this precious little girl! Miley lights up our every day and has shown us the true meaning of love! Through this first year of parenting I have learned sooooo many different things, but one of the most important things that I have learned from this little girl is understanding the gift of God's LOVE. I didn't truly understand how much God loves me and each and every one of us (his children) until I had my own child. God loves us unconditionally and is our Father. Only through the experience of becoming a parent and feeling the insane intense emotion of LOVE for my child, can I truly understand what it means for God to call us His children. How beautiful is that? What greater LOVE is there than a parents love for their child? Thank you God for extending your love to us, for the many blessings in our lives, and especially for the blessing of our beautiful little Miley.

I hope that you all have enjoyed the first year of my Mommyville blog. It means so much to me to be able to stay in touch with so many of you (family and friends). I truly appreciate all your kind words, support, advice, and love through out this first year of parenting. Boy has it been an adventure already and the ride is only starting! More to come, but for now, goodbye :)!!!!
